Size: Standard poodles can range in size from 16"-26" at the shoulder, 40-50 lbs(females) and 60-70 lbs(males). Males are often larger than the females. Our standards are in the size range of 22"-25" at the shoulder and 40-70 lbs.

Grooming: Poodles have hair that constantly grows so they require frequent grooming. Poodles can be kept in shorter trims for easier maintenance, otherwise poodles in a long coat require daily brushing to avoid matting. If you do not brush a full- coated poodle completely to the skin, the hair will mat near the roots and will have to be shaved off. Some owners choose to groom their dog themselves and some take their dog to a professional groomer on a schedule about every 4-6 weeks. Regardless if you groom your poodle yourself or you take them to a groomer you should always dry off your poodle with a high velocity pet dryer when their hair gets wet to avoid matting.
